Have you ever thought about joining the Friends of the Hampstead Public Library? The Friends are always seeking volunteers to join one of their committees or simply attend meetings to listen or contribute creative fundraising and marketing ideas. The next meeting is on Friday, August 28 at 6pm at Sweet Baby Vineyard!
Memberships start at $5. All contributions are tax deductible and you can choose which level of financial commitment to make! To join the Friends, pick up a Friends Membership form at the front desk of the library or print out and mail the Membership Form found at the bottom of this page.
The library is incredibly thankful for the Friends support, funding items in our collection like Stay Sharp Kits and new Critter Crates and various programs! One of the biggest contributions the Friends make each year is to fund the annual Summer Program. This program runs from the end of June until mid-August and engages all ages with a variety of entertaining, social, and educational activities and reading challenges. Big thank you to the Friends and all the wonderful Elaine David Thrfit Shop volunteers! The Elaine David Thrift Shop run by the Friends is located in the basement of the library and is open on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 9am until 1pm. They also occasionally run special sales and events, like the upcoming Spooky & Sparkle Sale on Saturday, September 16.
