Requesting an Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

Looking for items that we don't own?  If you are a HPL cardholder in good standing, we will try to borrow materials for you from another library in New Hampshire, or beyond, if necessary. To search for books owned by other libraries that are available through Inter-Library Loan, use the New Hampshire Statewide Catalog. Items not owned by any NH library may still be available to borrow.

Please check the library's catalog for the item before submitting a request. We do not request items we own, however, you may put that title on reserve. To submit an ILL request, you may use the online interlibrary loan request form below, or, if you prefer, requests can also be made in person or by calling our front desk.

Requests usually take 7 to 10 days to arrive with some items arriving more quickly, while others could take a bit longer. Titles should be published at least six months ago for us to request them via ILL.
