Third Thursday Book Discussion
December 19th - Call Me Amy by Marcia Strykowski
On December 19 at 1pm, the Hampstead Public Library’s Third Thursday Book Group will discuss “Call Me Amy” by Marcia Strykowski. The group will have the added pleasure of the author joining the discussion.
The novel takes place in 1973 in a small Maine Village. The protagonist, Amy, was having a lonely year with awkward moments until she helps rescue an injured seal pup. To help save Pup, Amy forms an unlikely alliance with a mysterious boy and a peculiar older woman. Just when she thinks everything will be fine, she faces a challenge that could change the future of the town and her own life.
Kirkus Book Reviews praises: “Well drawn, sympathetic characters and the developing spark between Amy and Craig combine to create a pleasant, satisfying read.”
